Verb: เป็นส่วนหนึ่ง (bpēn sùan hnèung)
Meaning: to be part of / to be a part of / to be one component of something larger
In this Thai lesson, we learn how to use the verb phrase เป็นส่วนหนึ่ง (bpēn sùan hnèung), which means ‘to be part of,’ ‘to be a part of,’ or ‘to be one component of something larger.’ It is commonly used to show that someone or something belongs within a bigger group, system, experience, or whole. It emphasises inclusion within a bigger structure or experience.
It is made up of three words:
- เป็น (bpēn sùan hnèung) = to be
- ส่วน (sùan) = part / portion
- หนึ่ง (hnèung) = one
Together, เป็นส่วนหนึ่ง (bpēn sùan hnèung) means ‘to be one part of many parts.’
