Message from Your Thai Tutor
As we step into May, and with a long bank holiday weekend ahead, I want you to pause for a moment and really acknowledge how far you’ve come in your Thai learning.
April was fantastic!
You hesitated less when forming sentences.
You recalled vocabulary more quickly.
You recognised your mistakes and corrected them with more ease.
You challenged yourself more and became more open to trying new structures.
You were more “switched on” during lessons and kept the conversations flowing more naturally.
And that takes heart.
That is what real, steady progress looks like.
That is exactly where confidence begins.
Not in perfection.
Not in getting everything right.
But in showing up, trying, adjusting, and continuing anyway.
So, well done — I’m really proud of you.
Confidence is built in these small, quiet moments — when you speak even though you’re unsure, when you recognise a word without translating, when you realise you understand more than you did before.
That’s your light switching on.
And the more you use the language, the brighter it becomes.
So, as we move through May, I want you to hold onto this idea: Let your confidence shine like a 1000-watt light.
Not because everything feels easy, but because you are willing to keep going. Because you are no longer waiting to feel 100% sure before you speak. Because you trust in what you already know just enough to take the next step.
This month, I encourage you to:
Keep speaking.
Keep practising.
Keep allowing yourself to make mistakes — and learn from them.
Because every time you do, that light grows stronger, steadier, and more natural. And before you know it, you won’t just be learning Thai — you’ll be using it with confidence.
You’re already on your way. Your confidence is already there. It just needs space, practice, and time to shine brighter.
So, let it grow.
Let it be imperfect.
Let it be real.
And most of all — let it shine.
For now, enjoy your weekend, and give yourself credit for all the hard work you’ve done. I look forward to seeing you back in the classroom next week.
You’ve got this!
